Planning a Lagos wedding reception: a practical timeline

From securing the hall twelve months out to the final walkthrough the week before — a realistic planning schedule.

A Lagos wedding reception rewards early planning. Twelve months out, secure the venue and the date. Everything else — decorator, caterer, photographer, aso-ebi — arranges itself around that one fixed point.

At nine months, confirm your guest count range and choose your package. Guest count drives seating, catering quantities and parking, and it is the number every vendor will ask you for first.

At six months, lock in your decorator and caterer, and agree access times with the venue. At Grand Imperial we schedule setup windows in advance so your decorator is never rushing.

At three months, send invitations and confirm your programme with your MC. At one month, pay your outstanding balance and walk the hall with your planner: entrance, high table, dance floor, food court, dressing rooms.

The week before, confirm arrival times for every vendor. On the day, arrive to a hall that is powered, staffed, secure and ready.
